The Universal Design Conference took place in Oslo from November 20–22, 2024. Experts, researchers, and policymakers gathered to explore how Universal Design can create a more inclusive society for everyone. KTH Royal Institute of Technology, a Swedish partner of AccessCoVE, was there to both listen and to raise awareness of the project in this forum.

What is Universal Design?
Universal design means designing products, environments, and services so everyone can use them, no matter their age or abilities. Universal design focuses on:
- Accessibility: Making things usable for everyone.
- Equality: Ensuring no one is excluded.
- Simplicity: Creating designs that are easy to understand and use.

AccessCoVE presentation
On the topic of Universal Design in Education, one of the conference presentations was the introduction of AccessCoVE as an evolving project in developing vocational excellence in accessibility. Jan Gulliksen, from AccessCoVEs partner KTH Royal Institute of Technology, presented the project’s vision to extend its reach.
What happens after the project ends?
A question from the audience raised an interest in knowing what will happen with AccessCoVE after the project ends. Jan shared the project’s vision of the future.The project works to ensure the establishment of AccessCoVE’s as a center to continue after the project officially ends. This includes expanding the project’s network of partnerships to keep the work going.
