Accesscove is partnering with schools across Europe in the AccessCoVE Innovation Competition, to help young people think about accessibility in new and creative ways. The competition focuses on principles of Universal Design, the idea that products, services, and environments should be usable by as many people as possible from the very start.
From idea to international stage
- Applications (October–December 2025): Teams sign up and share their first ideas.
- Mentoring (January–March 2026): Each team takes part in mentoring sessions with experts in accessibility, design, and innovation.
- Final proposals (March 2026): Teams submit their finished projects, showing how their ideas solves identified accessibility challenges.
- Public final (May 2026): The best five teams present their projects at an online event open to everyone.
Why it matters
The competition introduces students to design for social sustainability by encouraging them to explore everyday barriers and find creative solutions that benefits everyone. All participants receive certificates, while finalists might gain additional support to refine their ideas after the competition.
By working directly with teachers, Accesscove helps schools bring accessibility and universal design into the classroom, showing how young people can play an active role in shaping a more accessible future.
